So the comic will be updated early much like normal today, I just couldn’t give you a proper time frame; only due to the fact that I will be starting work at eleven today. In turn it means whenever Chris gets a moment to come onto his computer, he will upload the comic. I haven’t been as diligent to update my rants as I had been, a little out of laziness, forgetting and actually not having anything remotely interesting to say. I know that is amazing, in general that doesn’t stop me, I just keep going.
Well this week I made it a point to get back in a routine of ranting no matter how long. The comic needs its justice.
Plus Choked Comics is launching not next week, but the one after that and I will be ranting along with Chris, Anthony, Tony, Mike and Nik (yes I am the only girl!) So exciting, oh you need to be checking out this site as well. While it hasn’t hit its official launch date (Nov 5th, 2010 if you need to be reminded) Chris has been doing a trailer comic(s) until the fifth. I find it rather amusing, partly because I know my husbands humour along with his friends.
As for Mineral Base (my solo comic) I had decided under a lot of consideration to push its own launch date to sometime in December. Chris is the one who is going to be designing the website but he is still trying to do Choked and his school work. So I have decided until the site is ready, I will continue to give myself a buffer for the comics and wait. This allows me a better place for you all and not have to worry about leaving for a week due to the fact that Nov 21 to Nov 26 Chris and myself will be in Mexico. For that week, I am thinking the comic will be updated on that Sunday when we leave or the Saturday before. The comic for the next week will be updated on the Tuesday. So there will be a bit of a delay but no longer than a day or so. I will not allow us to disappoint the readers, so please keep that in mind.

Ah well that seems to be the end of my rant… oh! Pimping comics, well this week I have to still go with my husbands new comic Choked! Serving up the Comic with Gravy!

So it is an earlier update today due to the fact that it is currently TURKEY TIME here! But we are still updating with a comic today because we are awesome and don’t want to let our readers down, so enjoy that! I think it is rather hilarious but that’s because I am childish at the best of times and is currently dreaming of pumpkin squares, cheesecake and various other delicious goodies. So bare with me.
So with that I wont rant long because well… my mind is just turning about on Thanksgiving and I will be thinking of nothing else until tomorrow… when I return to actual work.

Rah rah updates

So we did update last night, i have just been a little sluggish yesturday. So didn't update my rant (bad me)But if you didn't check out the site, go now. Before the little sock monsters eat you because somehow i have that ability and i am not afraid to use it. Don't question me. There is a story behind that one and it does not involve my feet being racid; rather my brothers. I swear to god his socks have developed a heart beat, RUN! oh yeah check the link http://www.flycoren.comSo anywho, i am still currently working all the kinks and bobbles out of Mineral Base for launch late Oct or early nov. Depends on Chris and his ability to create the page for the comic. In other news the solo project of Chris' has offically has a launch date. Originally it was going to be for halloween but with a few valid points of this objective he has decided to push the launch date of Choked Comics to nov 5th which is a friday. I am excited for this because i have known about the original choked since i met Chris (five... six years ago lol) and it sorta was pushed to the back when i brought Flycoren to his attention. While Flycoren is and will always be my creative baby, Choked was his. Unlike the prior comic, this new one will be completely different with randoms (much like PA and LICD) and should be updated 3x a week. (mon, weds, fri) Anthony, myself and a few of his other friends are the ones who are helping him with random ideas that will hopefully be rather humourous. So prepare yourselves cause that is guna be a wild ride.Kausim is still going to be updated on Mondays, Choked three times a week and i am aiming to have Mineral Base updated on Thursdays. So we are attempting to cover all days lol.

Uh September we aint done yet, Need more Comics

Okay anybody else wondering where this month is going or has gone, because I am having a hell of a time figuring that one out. Before we know it Halloween will be upon us and then the god awful shopping era of Christmas. Scary, but before we stem that far out and think about all those evil thoughts, lets be in praise for the early update of Kausim. For another week, Chris and I have managed to get the comic done early for an equally awesome early update.
The story is starting to come along with the current character Maco, and I’ve been enjoying just using flat grayish colours without shading for the comic. That and I have downloaded the SAI program and actually relined everything in this comic (except the bg’s Chris is still doing that fun stuff)
We are happy with the crisper lines of the comic, so I will hopefully be continuing on this little journey and relining every single comic from this point on. It makes colouring very easy, so I can just spam my wand tool and fill the basic colours. Less thinking for me the better for you all.
Pretty soon here the comic will be put back into RGB colour swatch and I will begin a less lazy note on the comic.
Next little tid bit of fun is kash-it on Deviantart is our first person to commit fanart for the comic. Very well done if I might add. So I personally thank you for the epic fan art and hope to see more pics from the many deviants I watch. Not just fan art, just awesome art all around.
Third piece of fun is my pimped out comic of the week. While I have personally fallen in love with growlybeast's comic Inscribing Ardi, I will move on and give someone else a chance to hopefully nuke some looks from my blog here. I have just read very little of this comic but the art is so amazing that I just know I have to sit down and read this more and more. From what I know, this is a new webcomic but I cant be too sure.

Pimping Comics and Updating like a Mad Cow

Here we are again; another week and we have officially updated the comic successfully as well! Today we have actually updated the comic earlier, (eight pm mountain time… which was an hour ago) I should have updated my rant about that time too but I got a wee bit caught up in DDO.
Yeah I am being the loser with Elginive and Anthony and playing Dungeons and Dragons online… what a sad fate. Hey it is free so might as well utilize it! While I am not having leaping bounds of fun on DDO like I do on WoW or PSU, I’ll still hammer it out.
Anyways I finished the comic last night and it was prepared for tonight as well, so it is the reason why it was updated earlier.
Oh and tonight is the official launch of a great new online webcomic Inscribing Ardi http://inscribingardi.com/ which is the amazing artist growlybeast I love the art, the colours and the sheer difference this is presenting. Everyone should come and check it out and leave at least fifty comments on each page. Growlybeast is planning on updating every Monday with at least two comics, so that should keep the ants in your pants!
Secondly, it is official for us, that Elginive and myself will be doing solo projects that will be made available online closer to the middle of October. I will not spoil the fun for my husband and what he is doing, but I can assure you it will be a hoot. Anthony and I have already been coming up with many ideas to help Chris along… even if no one else thinks its hilarious, I will still be the idiot in the back pissing herself right silly!
Then my solo project has just begun. While I may be feeling like shit and my beloved husband has been so sweet to let me rest as much as possible, I still took the time to sketch out the first page of Mineral Base. I’ve already updated the banner to my DA account and now I am currently working on some profile stuff concerning the characters. I have not been this completely stoked for a pair of characters since well… Rhye and Grey. Unlike the Kausim Comic, Mineral base is going to be toned and well B&W. The art will be shit for a while because this is also an excuse for me to work on my pencil skills which are less than satisfactory to my computer skills. Trust me, you will see! I hope to have a good plot for the story, so when it becomes available please stick it out with me! I’m really trying lol!

Then my final thought tonight is me pimping out another comic that I just absolutely love! Ah yes Daily Quests you are ever so amusing! Chapter two begins tonight

Okay so I didn’t rant last week. It was late and I was tired eek!
But this week is different… minus the still tired aspect of it all. The comic will be updated at 10pm mountain time (tis where we live) and it will be updated with two this time. Out of strange happenings, I actually got both of the comics finished on Saturday, so they have been ready for Chris to work his magic but we tend to like to work under pressure. Much like a good majority of the populace. At least we are updating tonight on schedule.

In the past week, Chris has begun advertising Flycoren Kausim on Wonder Project and I cannot believe what an appearance everyone has made. It is amazing, just shows how awesome people are in general! You all rock!
We also have our Flycoren Kausim Group up and running on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100001405159259 ) and yes it is a slow start but a lot of information and fun tidbits will be posted here as well. And then of course we have out DA group, Chris’, mine and the comic twitter and my blog! So we are starting to make a leap into the elite people of comics –At least I am hoping we are lol-

It is hard to ever believe that Flycoren is starting to come out into the world with such a positive response. I’ve held Flycoren close to my heart of the past ten years and have only really allowed people to take a good look at it, in the last two. Minus the fact of me being on DA for the past… five/six years. It is always amazing to see something you strived privately for come to life and with people actually enjoying it. That tells me that okay; I wasn’t the only one who thought it was awesome. I tend to do that.

So with tonight we start the second chapter of Kausim which I am excited for. We get to learn a lot about the plot of the comic and some juicy tidbits about many races/places of Flycoren. Tis exciting for me!

If you haven’t seen this comic before, then you must be living under a rock with no internet access. This comic is brutally amazing and the story is one that really keeps you guessing. It is only in its second chapter but I promise you it is worth the read! Check it out!

Efficient Comics keep us going

So with another week comes another Monday and in turn our comic update. Chris and I managed to actually finish this one early this afternoon, so he is just posting it and we are good.
One more page and chapter one will be completed. Hard believe if we had stuck with it last year, we could easily been going onto chapter three! Sigh those were the mistakes we made, but now we are hard on it. And on the plus side we have begun to change some little things with the comic that will absolutely come in handy later down the road. (printing wise)
And soon we are thinking that the bonus comic section will actually have more too it, especially if I have my way.

Why do I make mention of the bonus section? Well because of my teacher and his strange requests. I am in school and I’m not. But while the school year hasn’t started yet, I have been assigned to write about seven pages a night about a month ago. Chasm of Reckoning has been stuck at forty some pages for the past six months and now that my teacher is assigning me work for them, I can proudly say that I have brought it up to one hundred and twenty one pages. Though I have been relieved from writing on Monday nights since that’s when we update. But back to my point. My teacher isn’t a fantasy person (although he is enjoying Chasm very much) he is into science fiction. And now as one of my assignments I am to try writing in a different genre. To appease my teacher I have choose sci-fi because well you can still do a lot with it. So for a little bit, my AFE comic starting has been pushed aside so I can focus on my new assignment.
So I have designed my main character of my sci-fi and since I am some sort of addict, I am determine to get AFE up into comic form within a few months instead of two years and perhaps Mineral Base <-- sci-fi title. Also Chris has been thinking about making Choked Comics into a daily, although we aren’t sure when that will happen. Along with an exclusive second comic that will hopefully be made to order only. I am excited for that one, because the character designs are to die for. If he ever updates them to DA you will see why I love them. There is a lot of things going on for the site and in my personal note, I hope to purchase the Domain for it all within a couple years. I would like to do something like Las Lindas :Iconchalosan: opening page and link all the comics off the main domain. But that is only in time. Anyways people I hope you enjoy the week. LoN a must see plus comics

Howdy everyone!

Well the comic may be a wee bit late tonight; I did finish my part on time. Just Chris had to do a panel because he made it really fancy and that is so not my forte. So he spent a lot of time on it. So currently I believe he has finished it and is working on the rest, so soon you will be able to see the updated comic. Almost thirty comics people, we are getting there real nicely.

And with all that fun stuff, we have officially been living one week in our new somewhat permanent place with Chris’ parents and brothers. It is a small house but somehow we have made this work without living on top of one another. And I can honestly say I have enjoyed… most of it. I like to be able to cook without my own mother nagging and picking at everything I do. I am not a bad cook; no one has died from my food. Nor have I ever made a biscuit so hard that not even a dog would eat it and it could easily pass for a hockey puck. Until that day I am a reasonable cook. Plus it has been even better to know that when we put our son down, no one is going into his room to pick him up because he thinks he is allowed to stay up past nine o’clock.
With that I have started back into my diet routine (chalk today up for crap though) and have been taking my son, Chris and Anthony out into the big blue sunny world of our hometown. While Chris and Anthony bike, I am out roller blading (I haven’t roller bladed and enjoyed it since grade eight… many years ago) and pushing my son’s chariot. It is nice and my rear end is sore so apparently I have some work to do back there.
And I have still been walking to work about a twenty minute walk. As long as I have some tunes then all is good although I need some more on my blackberry.

So life is interesting, especially with Anthony around all the time. Apparently I wasn’t crazy enough so now I have become even more absurd and sick humoured.

Oh and I have been anxiously waiting for the second episode season three of Legend of Neil. Seriously if you haven’t watched it, you should. Felicia Day (Codex from The Guild) is in it and well it was made by Sandeep Parikh (Zaboo from The guild) and you will piss yourself laughing.

And with all that fun tidbits, I’ll venture off into the world of writing to finish my damn eight assigned pages for Chasm. Damnit lol.

Recycle and comics

Wanna know something absolutely frightening that should just blow your mind away? I finished the comic at three thirty this afternoon instead of nine thirty! Let those screams roll!
So it has officially been updated on www.flycoren.com/comicpgs/last.html so make sure you check it out.

Lately we actually have been getting a lot of views on Flycoren and believe me Chris and I have been going frantic for it. Nothing has been that awesome to see online for myself in a long while. That’s what keeps me going on coloring the comics so bravo to all those who check the comic out. You are completely and utterly awesome. With that we are almost at page 30 of the comic as well, what a milestone! Choked was at 30 comics I believe as well so when we hit 31 then we beat Chris’ old high school comic. That was five years ago people wow.

Then comes along the other news of blah! We are officially moving out of my current resident with my mom, my sister and her fiancé. It was a full house. Six people (Chris’, me and our son) to move out in the past three weeks. You never know how much crap you have until you move, actually… scratch that. Chris and I are pretty junkless people. We typically go through our stuff every three or so months, so no clutter. But my mom and my sister good bloody life! Especially my sister! Seeing all the stuff that escaped from her room, closets, living room, garage and any other feasible place of junk holding abilities, she had crap in. So I can honestly say I have been to the recycling practically everyday to nearly have my hands ripped off by the give and take vultures. You know your life is sad when you are actually sitting in chairs at the Give and Take waiting for junk that no one else wants. And don’t get me wrong, I like to recycle and at least it is being used, but I have seen the same people every time I go. Remembering we have been moving stuff out of our house and cleaning our stuff for three weeks, I have been there a lot. That and I began to laugh to sadistic self when I seen two girls from my high school who were… privileged in the ability to spread there selves open for business on a frequent timetable. They were popular (note I wasn’t popular but I have friends in all classes of the school, as does Chris) and now they are the saddest peons of life that I have ever seen. That and I know for a fact that one who is my age (23) has four children all under five years old and the other has I think two now. These were the girls who thought they were better than everyone around them and now they are going through the crap I don’t even want my son to have. There is something to say about how you treat people in high school and what can happen to you after it.
So hopefully now with this move coming to a splendid end, our lives will return to normal chaos. That and I will be living with my youngest brother in law and well shit always ensues when Chris, Anthony and myself get in the same room. One day my son will disown his parents and his uncle.

Comics are the easy part of Work

Ah the beginning of yet another week and while I am pleased to keep the comic up to date, I am less than pleased with this week. It is horrible and it hasn’t even started. Granted I am sure it will be fun at the end of each day that I am working.
In the bakery this week involves shit loads of orders and catering that I am certain will make me and Pam loony but the end. We are to cater to the volunteer supper tomorrow night which is suppose to be around 650 people which involved me wrapping by myself 100 potatoes. Okay that doesn’t seem bad, but that was yesterday. I don’t like leaving things to the last minutes, so instead of listening to my boss Rocky, I wrapped 550 potatoes leaving only 100 to be done. Go me, good thing my boss didn’t mind. Less work.
While that was a crack in the barrel for us, we have this other girl who is nice enough but well… about as useless as tits on a bull. I had to find her three times today to tell her to get back to work, cause I wasn’t staying until 6:00 to pick up all of her work. Last time I check I wasn’t the supervisor. Just her superior… I guess it means the same thing. I am the one Rocky calls in when he knows we have a lot of work and we need to get it done asap. Pam is my superior and does the work of the other girl when I am off, so I wanted to get her out of the door. Pam starts work at 5:30am and when the Marcy is working, doesn’t usually leave until 4:30pm. You tell me if that is a long day. Typically when I am working with Pam, I can get her out of the door by 1:30pm, when she is suppose to go home. The wonders I perform. Honestly if you are hired somewhere to do work, shouldn’t you be on top of it? It has been nearly two months since Marcy has been hired so she should know what she is doing.
When I was first hired three years ago, Rocky told me I would get a raise in the first week if I learnt the till and part of the back within a week. Oh I learnt real quick! I know for a fact, that Pam doesn’t make much more than I do, and she has been there a year longer than me.
So I am basically working all week to keep us caught up on everything and then getting Heritage Day Parade off (yahoo). Gotta love Strathmore for their heritage days, they are fun. Although I volunteered last year, so I didn’t get to go down to the grounds and explore. But this year, I want to.
Have to see who has come home for the summer holidays from high school. That and get my son out of the house for some fun. Three day weekend for me!
With that information out on the internet waves, I will tell you all that currently Chris and I are in the midst of moving from our current location back to his parents. (I don’t make enough money to rent and I really am tired of landlords… they suck)
But we will have next week’s comic up still. I won’t let that fall this time. So check back then and have fun this week, especially for me.

Bamboo Tablets completes comics

So the comic should be up shortly as Chris is trying to finish up some prior projects for some clients, so the comic is the list. It’s a short list I promise.

With all that, I have recently obtained a tablet from my hubby as well! I never thought I would like a tablet, because well… Chris had one prior. And I have tried it, it just didn’t feel like it would be beneficial for me. Until this one. I have Bamboo tablet and pen, and well I just love it. Recently I have been trying to get my pencil skills up to some decent standard but this will just help so much more.

Other than that, I have one thing to say. Go check out you tube and look up the awesome Janelle Monae. She is awesome and I love her Many Moons song. Such a lovely voice, beautiful woman and such a weird hairstyle. But she can pull it off. I’ve honestly been looking for some new music and artist to add to my you tube as well. Because I cannot live off of Theory of a dead man and Toby Keith. Any ideas tell me, cause I need to expand my library. Then finally I have officially set myself to return to school. You know that one place I swore I would never go back to because I hated it so much? Yeah that place. Granted it isn’t the high school I graduated from (upgrading my courses) I am going to a part time school so I can keep working, have the government pay for my courses (if you have been on mat leave in the past five years and live in Alberta I think, that the government will pay for it all) and still have much time for my son and my sweet husband Chris. Of course the comic too.
But with Chris doing some website design programs at school I figured I wanted to get into my journalism. So it needs all my prior courses upgraded. Ah well, tis life.

Quest Completed Successfully

Good eve everyone!

If you will notice, this is my second journal in the last few days which could only mean that the update for Monday has been achieved! Kausim it being updated within the next twenty minutes (currently 8:30pm MT) so gauge that correctly to your zone. Aw it is so nice to be back in proper order for all this.

Lately I have been doodling out some sketchy artwork for Flycoren concept races and while I won’t be updating them to DA any time soon, I can assure you, they aren’t anything real interesting. Promise!
And while everything has been going fairly smoothly, I have finally set a solo project out for myself and have been sticking too it. It has been over ten years since something has managed to capture my attention longer than say two days. Flycoren was obviously the one that started it all and still keeps my head off in other worlds. I’ve even started to draw on paper again (that’s been about six years so I am rusty… badly rusty!) Keep in mind with all this sketching and reworking my pencil skills, I have vowed to myself and now to all who actually read my rant that I, Roan Breck will start her own personal comic within… two years. Could be sooner or later, I just wanna over estimate so I don’t let myself down. I have been developing the story line this past week and it will continue to do so for a long while! There will be no neglecting of Flycoren Archives or Kausim because that’s where I started and have been doing excellent work with :iconelginive: for the past five or so years. With that, Anthony his brother and my brother in law, has officially been pulled into our world as well. We all have always worked well as a team, in games or in real life, so it was only a matter of time. Anthony is an anthro sort of guy (yes now you all know what type of naughty things he looks as well as myself … currently I am making a frownie face lol) But especially with werewolf type of characters and what does Flycoren have in that department? Well the Weliti of course!
They aren’t human in any form just strictly wolf anthro. So I have gave full control over to Anthony to do some lore for them and whatever else he wants to do. Question is will he currently follow through it? If not that is cool, he just graduated so I know he will need some time to figure out all he wants to do. But I can say that Demon Feather has now three parts to it. Chris, Anthony and myself, so that is all cool!

Revived with Updates

I’ve officially been back home for a week and been a little lazy/busy with a bunch of life things. But I am happy again until I need another vacation lol. So firstly, the comic was late this week because Chris had just received his school work for the summer and was trying to catch up on his work from the week prior. But we will be back on schedule for Monday. So I think in about ten minutes, the comic will be updated for tonight, so please go and check it out at www.flycoren.com

In other fantastical news, camping was beautiful! Awe a week of nice gorgeous hot weather for once, meaning we could walk around and be complete idiots. We camped down in Drumheller in this lovely little campground. We swam in the Red Deer River, shot each other with water guns and tried to sleep late. Chris’ dad is an early riser and I think doesn’t understand the whole shut up process at seven in the morning. Chris, Anthony and I were in the campground beside them and well, none of us are early risers. But I am still refreshed. It was tons of fun, especially the swimming part. Well for me. Chris can swim but Anthony can’t. Me? I am a fish, love water. So I swam away with the current a few times while pissing myself at the two brothers laughing and trying not to fall in. I didn’t want to have to pull Anthony from the river… aw hell I would have left him hehe. Just Kidding!
On Canada Day we went into Drumheller and enjoyed 75 cent giant cookies, ice cream and lunch. When hiked the hoodoos, when over the 11 bridges to Wayne and since the little church (which I have seen since I was in grade one! I am 23 years old, you do the math)
We played Pokemon (My team is currently 80! Highest ever!) and talked a lot with one another. It was typically Chris, Anthony and I since Adam can be a little over bearing at times.
After the lovely week of roughing in a tent, I was ready to see my little boy and have a shower. Having another day off, Chris and I spent time as adults with one another in Calgary. When Monday rolled around, my boss phoned and inquired why I wasn’t at work. I told him I wasn’t coming back to work until Tuesday… never the less I went back to work on Monday, since the other girl wasn’t coming in.

With all that, we have been busy with court dates, spoiling my son and working. It has been nice to relax, but with the Stampede starting today, I need to make sure I get time off to go to the greatest outdoor show on earth. Yes, corn dogs (anyone wondering if I am still on my diet? I am I just allow myself something nummy every week. Less likely to cheat everyday!)

Countdown to camping

Ah yes the first official day of summer, and my goodness it was a beautiful one at that. Remember people, I live in Alberta that is simply amazing! With stating that, it also means we are coming up real nicely to mine and Chris’ camping vacation. Which I am so excited for! I feel a little bad though, I will be gone for ten days from work (I just finished working ten straight days though) and this Saturday, Rocky is catering a wedding for 300 people. Last Saturday, he catered to a bridezilla with 200 people and perhaps fifty tons of food. I began to wonder out of my sick mind, how big are the family members and guests? Seriously, there was a lot of food. About five large inserts filled to the brim of cabbage rolls, ten inserts of roast beef covered end to end, while having a massive cheese tray and meat tray and continue with a five big dessert trays. But wait I am not done! 500 potatoes, 350 crusty buns, five pans of roasted chicken, while still having coffee or tea and a four tier wedding cake! That is a lot of food, at least to me. My wedding was bigger but we still had food left over for some people to have seconds.
Ah well, each there own.
But recently I haven’t been doing anything concerning much art. Chris, Anthony and I are playing on our world of warcraft accounts again, trying to get to 80 before Cataclysm. Whilst I have been reading a lot of my Kobo and the books that are on there! With that all mixed together, I finally found something I thought would be cute and interesting. I don’t know if anyone knows what Max & Ruby are, but they are on Treehouse tv and my son watches them every so often. But there was on episode with Ruby being a princess for Halloween and trying to dress Max up are a prince but he wanted to be a vampire, blah bla blah! Any who with me watching that, my mind started to think about how bunny princess’ are usually the typical rabbit. White and there ears standing straight up. So I thought of creating a rabbit princess opposite to that. This is where my kobo comes in. I am one of those people who like to read about astrology (doesn’t mean I believe my horoscopes) and see what they say about people. I am a Libra in the western culture and a Fire Rabbit in Eastern. Which is funny to me, because what was I just wondering about? Rabbit princess’! This leads me off to actually create an Anthro rabbit character that I wanted to do with Chris in collaboration!
While my husband is a Leo in the west and an earth dragon in the west, I thought it would been different to have him design a dragon warrior or whatever to piece together. This shall be interesting, but it won’t be posted until we come back from camping. But I have been working on my side of the collab and am just finishing the basic colors of the rabbit.

With that all said and done, I come to the final part of my rant and say that Kausim has been finished! So shortly Chris’ will be posting it up on the newest page. And remember we are trying to update next week’s comic this Friday and before 10pm, because that is when we are leaving to camp. So let the fun roll!

Just add tuesday updates for good baking

Okay I posted a different rant on my DA page this morning, because i was in a rush to get to work! But anywho, Chris and I did update the comic today because of my lax and lazy nature last night. Totally me to blame for that!

Any who since last Thursday, I have inertly inherited more hours at work and without much notice to that either. I work with typically two other girls and of course my boss; Rocky. For all of you who don’t know, I have worked at this bakery for actually three years (longest running job currently to date, as long as you don’t assume Flycoren is a job) and the one child/lady I work with has been there about a year longer than me. I don’t work with young people of my age, (age has nothing to do with how old you act by the way) but any who! Pam has been there a year longer than myself and when I first started to work at the bakery I was the youngest and clearly the new worker bee in the business. But after six months of being there part time, the woman who shared the same duties as myself quit with a major blow up at Rocky. So this allowed me to become full time for the remaining part of the year which also involved me getting a raise as well. But shortly after that first year of working at the bakery I became pregnant and of course I tried to work right down the wire of my son’s birth. Which in turn did happen! My son is apparently a month premature (you couldn’t honestly tell, he is 90% bigger than kids his age… he is 18mths) But I did come back to work through my mat leave, to allow my boss to go on a month vacation in Las Vegas and various other times for him and his wife to take vacations.
But they went through many girls at the bakery and it seems no one is able to compete with me or Pam for the job aspect. When I returned to work legally, I was met with Darlene. I liked Darlene, she was cool and I have yet to honestly determine how old she was. No idea. With that and me coming back to work, I forced me and Darlene into part time in which I don’t really care about. If I could lay around all day and be paid to do it, oh honey believe me I would!
But alas such a job has yet to find me.
Well with Darlene needing to support her own family, she managed to get another job last week, but only gave Rocky, Pam and myself a day of notice. Believe me Rocky is very lucky I am versatile. I am the only one in the bakery who can work the bakery and the café (two different business’)
I am not just a cashier anymore. I make sandwiches daily (about 60 to 70 everyday, so I hate sandwiches), I can make everything in that bakery like donuts, cream johns, Danish, cinnamon buns and so on. I clean, maintain, handle customers and take orders for catering and general donut/coffee/cake orders while still opening and closing any day I have too. I am busy even as a part time person. So I get real tired, but I enjoy my job. I do, I just don’t like some people who come in. Never in a hundred years will I understand why people come into a bakery and complain at me. I just work here people!
With all that, I have started to work more hours again but we have reemployed a girl that actually worked for the bakery when it first opened 10 years ago. She is awesome!

This be a reason why I want my vacation!

Even through the agony and persistent floating sickness that has been following me around the last two days, I managed to finish the comic still. That it one major accomplishment for myself, since I so wanted to not do it! But the comic is a simple one this week, but soon the real fun is going to start in Kausim. Of course I will not say much to this.

But on prior notes, in about two weeks time, give or take some days, Chris and I will be going away for a week to go camping! Yes that fun and exciting outdoor activity that makes everyone feel like a little kid. Toasting marshmallows, sitting –hopefully- around a fire with the boys and tenting in the next campground beside Chris’ dad while watching in sheer horror as each snore from him residing inside a mobile camper, sucks and puffs the walls of our tent almost making it crash upon the three dwellers inside. You think I am blowing smoke? Ha! When Chris told me a few years ago about there camping trips and how you couldn’t sleep unless Chris’ dad choked on a snore and you have to fall asleep within a matter of a millisecond, I didn’t believe him. My parents snored… well my mom mostly. But I think they could have contests and there may only be a winner but a barely sizeable margin. When I camped the first year with the boys (me being the only girl there, like usual) I couldn’t believe the horror that started my dreams in my tent. Yup that was something.
Although Anthony can do the same damn thing. I never believed he could be that loud – I am using the term very loosely- One night sleeping over at the Breck house, Anthony was sleeping on the cot in the living room while Chris and I slept on the pull out bed. I was awoken but the sounds of the slumber beast barely a few inches from thy feet. I was afraid Chris and I would be sucked into the endless void that of which is Anthony. Believe me that is a scary thought.
So that is our plans. We will be gone from June 26th which is a Saturday till July 3rd again which is a Saturday. We are planning on updating the comic like usual that Monday and perhaps a second comic on the same day or on that Friday. Stay tuned for more information on that.

In other news, my beloved yet shockingly strange brother Anthony has finally graduated this past Saturday. I am proud of Anthony but I fear much like the rest of his family and friends about the world which he is able to transition to with a whale like grace. Don’t get me wrong, Anthony is cool and fun but he is weird. Actually weird doesn’t cover it. Its more of a haunting egoistical zombie loving, kai (which is my dog) obsessed, man who biggest accomplishment in life is trying to disturb me in any way shape or form, while speaking to me about the bowel movements that require amble amounts of time and pushing, farting, wall crawling bug boy of the unheard of planet of narcissism and creepy stares, weird.
Apparently I am the cause of this. At one time he was closer to the line of normal, which I can’t nor will believe.

So that has been the updates of life of Roan. So check out the comic and be happy your brother or siblings in general aren’t Anthony. To quote the line of Carlos the man of love, “Around the world they call my name, there’s only one of me… what a shame!” We are grateful!

New Comic and Evilness

Another day, another comic update! I really honestly crammed this one together the last two days, because well… we got a late start on it. On Saturday Chris and I didn’t have our son, so we spent the day out being as husband and wife. So spending part of the day at Cross Iron Mall outside of Calgary, we went over to the Breck side of the family. Being a bunch of nerds we are, Chris, Adam, Anthony and myself played pokemon, trading eggs. And after we managed to bore ourselves of that, we began to play some Wii which in turn involved Mario kart (Adam, Ant and I are pro because we played it a lot, so Chris gets annoyed at times, but then makes an amazing comeback to cream us all) and soon switched to Smash bros Brawl. That game, I am okay at, not pro like Chris.
So playing my two typical characters (Wolf and Lucario… you think there is a trend here?) I got annoyed at loosing and getting no kills against Ike (chris) King Dedede (Anthony) and pikachu (Adam) I went back to my first character Pit! I owned somehow. I say it was the level but whatever, I owned.

So after some rounds of that, we went to our made up level called the Time Chamber (DBZ anyone) which only has one exit out of the level, and you typically get shot out of it at mach fifty, so no chance in hell coming back. Plus only one life. We began to make the losers drink these nasty ass drinks. The two losers would have to drink while the winners would laugh. Which we did! Chris and Anthony lost the first round, in which we all laughed our asses off for about ten minutes.
Second round it was Anthony and Chris who lost, but Anthony and I did taste the drink which they were to drink. It was a grape tootsie nasty thing.
For all you to know, I was the one making the drinks. Finally the third round was something none of us wanted to loose, because I made something very nasty that smelt like salad dressing vomit.
So battling our little hearts out, Adam was the first one to be smash out of the time chamber, by me! So first loser who had to drink the mutated drink!
Chris and Anthony were only left, including myself who knew what was in the drink and did not want to put that in my mouth and kill my tongue. So I fought hard against Anthony as Chris was hanging back waiting. Again I managed to smash Anthony out of the level, making him the second loser, and the next to drink my evil thing. Fyi Anthony tasted the drink before hand, so he knew what it already meant and was getting very sick over the idea of having to put the rest in his mouth.
Finally I beat Chris as well ( I was determined!) so I was victor. If you notice throughout my rant, I never drank a thing! I was always a winner! See I was determined to a whole new level.
So Adam have to drink first, and when he put it in his mouth, he threw up. I was quite proud of my demented self. Twisted I be.
With all that in thought, it was about 11:30pm when we stopped playing that game, and just let the boys nurse their quaking bellies. Chris and I came home at one. So the comic was pushed into two days so it would be updated on time.
And that is my rant! I am still proud of myself.

Renewed and Updates

Finally a week that starts out beautifully and actually continues on that way. Over the weekend, I managed to pull my head out of my ass and finish PKMN Origins comic. So that is posted up on the site. But I also managed to complete not one but two Kausim Comics, so there will be two up tonight. Our little way of saying we are sorry for missing last week. Hopefully that doesn’t happen again for a while.

Any who, all of you know that I was having a bad week because I am on this no sugar kick and exercising with :iconelginive: every night. Seriously the first five days, I could’ve killed anyone. But finally I perked up again and am doing beautifully. Elginive built up a pound of muscle in a week (nice and nummy for me) and I lost three point two pounds. Now that made me feel epic and awesome. I even turned down icecream on Saturday at my dads, just munched on this delicious strawberries instead. So I won’t be bitchy anymore, (still guna be times) but in the long run I am back to being the perky happy easy to approach Roan you all know.

While that is all good and fun, Elgin and I actually have been working on Flycoren Archives as well this week, while we set up Flycoren website to www.flycoren.com. That is so cool, we own our domain name! As well as Elgin is going to school for a web designer, so we will absolutely be changing the site up when he completes his schooling. I so have this idea in my head and hopefully my wonderful husband can do it, ( I know you can baby Mwai~) But we may also be starting a voting incentive for one of the comic ranking things soon, so ladies expect sexy things from me. Don’t know what Elgin will do, I’ll obviously leave that up to him.

Already all, I hope you had a good long safe holiday and an even better week! Oh if any of you live in the Calgary area, you should totally go see Dinosaurs Alive. That was cool! I enjoyed that!

Grouchy and shitty week

Okay i knew it was coming, i just didnt think it was guna be that quick. This week has already started out as shit for the comics. So i tell you that there will be no new ones until next monday.
It has just not been good. Last thursday my loving Elginive had major cramps and vomiting issues that made me take him to the hospital. We spent the next lovely two hours laying there or in my case, spinning around in the armless doctors chairs. You know the ones, where they look so cool with them smug selfs. I bet when no one is around they are just as immature as i was, and spin for hours on them. Thats my story and to keep my mind in a child like state, i will continue to believe that. But further on with that night, i have learnt my mother instincts have come blazing in so i do not wanna throw up even harder at hearing or even seeing my husband doing the down wards face praying to the god of porcelain. That said, it isnt until i have to dump out the banana mango remains that i felt pale and wanna hit the floor. Yet i hold my iron stomach continued my duties to the ill Elginive.
After all that shit and thinking it might be his appendix, they tell us it might be kidney stones. I know i sound void and nil to that, which in truth i am. Listen i gave birth to my son and this is the only way Elginive will ever understand what i went through, pushing a watermelon out of something that should in not stretch in any manner.
So that was the start of shitastic week. We started the comic late on saturday evening in which i was had the attention span of a gnat on morphine. I was laze baby! So needless to say, the PKMN Origin comic, is still waiting on my hands to work with it, and that pushes Kausim as well. And when i think i was about to come out and start work on the comics on Sunday, i spent the day wedding dress shopping with my mother and sister for her wedding in Mexico. This in turn brings forth the idea that i want to loose fifteen pounds by nov, and therefore need a support system with my sister, mother and my husband who wants to put on some poundage for muscles (yummy). So i have just spent that last two days, staring down doughnuts at work and silently telling them, I am going to eat you! In which i dont, because i have customers walk in that moment when i am about to reach into the case and snatch that delicious bastard and begin to stuff into my face. This i am currently happy about and unhappy at the same time. My boss makes all doughnuts from scratch and this makes me wanna kill him. But i like being paid, so that will have to wait.
So i am grumpy slightly because i want nummies and i am not allowed. So in turn i take this out on the comic. Bare with me, i am sugarless and full of bitchyness. Please all pray for Elginive, cause when i am done being annoyed with the comic, it will certainly come around to him. For all to know, i love him dearly but i think i love sugar more at this moment.
Hear back from me in a week if i haven't jumped and done a spread eagle into the doughnuts at work.

Sucks to be Dirty

Well folks it looks like yet again, i have managed to finish coloring the comic on time. I did it all tonight because i had a total brain fart on Saturday and forget about it. I was working all weekend so i felt a few days behind! Oops lol but at least i finished. Now Chris is just guna finish the last bits and we will be golden! Not the golden arches mind you but close enough... ew i made reference to McDonald's.

Any who, i don't know about the rest of you, but this mothers day was... eventful? That's the word i am looking for i believe. Being a newer mother, i am beginning to understand why this day was created although Chris is the one who actually stays home. I'm usually working. But nonetheless i know why it was made. To be the day you try new things that make you wish you hadn't. Never in my life have i ever tried fondue and in my opinion it was not worth it. It was hell and i burnt myself a good number of times, but luckily for me, working in the bakery i have become an expert and never showing the sheer pain that this causes!

Unfortunately for my sister though, her night never consisted of burning, but rather food poisoning. See my point why i don't wanna do it again? The chicken hadn't been left in the oil long enough and well shit happens... literally. I'll suffer with minor burns any day.

So in closing case, i think Mothers day is nice but i much rather not be an explorer of my food choices and take chances. Next year, seriously just order pizza. I'll be estatic.

So we have managed yet again to update on time. This is just too weird to be truth, but honey it is!
As of tonight, Kausim page 15 is up and ready to be viewed. So nice.

In other news, Elginive and I are doing the Prom thinger on Deviantart with the UBF. We have done a collab of course together and him with another very talented artists.
Myself have finished one, and im currently still working on two others. Hey its a good way to make friends in the community and really do something other than my norm.

Other than that, theres not much else to say. Just check the comic and keep them views a coming!

Updates and The Guild

Cool beans people, we have managed to update the comic on schedule! Tis freaky no?
And since my beloved husband has been happily to keep sketching up the comics, we are ahead of schedule at the same time. I even have the second comic to Pokemon Origins and it is mostly base coloured. Who knows, you all may get more than one comic for that! Again freaky?

I've been watching The Guild though, (started because i seen, Do you wanna date my avatar *giggle*) And i was just sitting here thinking, holy sh*t! They had a lot of there viewers pay for there production and that is just awesome. Apparently Pure Pownage started the same way (did not know that) but that is neat. Knowing your viewers think that highly of you and are willing to help you succeed. One day i know Demon Feather Ltd, will be there as well! And for now all we want are your views!

Can you believe it? Honestly?

Well people we have offically brought back Kausim from the dead and in tow brought Pokemon Origins. We now have two comics in this little area and both i think are awesome. Damn straight.

I am personally aiming to have Kausim updated every Monday in the evening (around perhaps 9 pm here, im in Calgary so figure it out so my brain dont have too lol) And update the Pokemon comic around Every 15th of each month. How many will depend on what Elgin and myself do. But just rejoice in the fact that we have come back. I am so excited to actually work again!

What the hell is happening here?

Remember when i said we would try to get the comic up and going again before the end of feb? Where did that go? Honestly!

I need help convincing Elginive to start sketching out the next comic before I go crazy. I have been nagging him because i am now married to him and it is in my wife-like nature.

But anywho i also need to start updating this once per week at least, because i see a lot of you are checking the comic still, especially on mondays and fridays. So with that, i will committ some of my time to my posting, but it may be later at night for it. Just keep that in mind.

So with that little rumble of ranting, i will also let you all know that we will also be placing up a monthly other comic onto the site. But it will have nothing to do with Flycoren. Instead it will be a more common theme out in the world. If you haven't picked up a copy of HeartGold or SoulSilver, then i suggest you do. We are going to be doing a pokemon comic (funny aint it) with the help of our brothers. So it is a family comic this time.
Elginive and I have have done pokemon fanart years ago and created our trainers in the aspect of time as well, it is just hasnt gone anywhere. But three or so years into the future (now) we have been talking with Elgin's two brothers and we all figured we could do this. But this will only be updated on a monthly basis and i am thinking about the 15th of each month.
It is cool to see this honestly, but we will see how is goes.

But i have convinced Elgin to sit down with me so we can talk about Kausim and getting him on the next page. So wish me luck!

WoW and Life

Okay i have recently noticed that our site has been getting hit all time. So exciting and if you check in on my DA once in a well, you would have seen in my journal about me amping Elginive to work again. So we are doing four fillers and hoping to update the comic again after Feb 28/10. That's only a few weeks away.

The reason for that is because, within the next two weeks we are getting married and my life has been obsessed about it... well that and WoW. I have been playing for the last month and a half and well lol, i am lvl sixty so. So proud for that!

So i will be around again, promise! And with that I will be updating the rant while i sit down with Elginive one night and look over the comic again. We need to fix somethings but we arent going to worry too much with it now.

Anywho ppls, looks like me and elginive are getting a wee bit to famous for taking a haitus. Right now life is well... crap and more crap. One its dec which means xmas for me and him. Two it means i am going back to work soon so i will be very tired which leads to me being cranky. Three we are probably going to be moving AGAIN, and finally Elginive is most likely going to be quitting his craptastic HMV job. (that last one is more of a good thing)

So for the time being, i am just being lazy and using my last days of maternity to be a nerd and mom all in one. i am playing a bit of PSU and still working on the deviant art Arcane Series. And while i am doing this, Elginive is playing PSU with me and his brother and doodling some pictures as well. With that i am thinking or at least hoping when we get resettled into the days ahead, i will be more of a nag and bug Elginive to work on Kausim. But knowing my luck we will be uber dorks and begin playing WoW, depends if i want to play at that time (prolly).

Alrighty, so that in mind i wish you all a merry holiday season and highly suggest everyone watch at least one christmas movie (ill be watching the grinch, with jim carrey) and stay merry.

it was just about damn time, yes?
Well Elgin has been a very busy boy, basically working three jobs and still fighting those days where he can actually rest. But yesturday he got to spend some alone time and work on a flycoren picture that is updated on DA, and so with that out of his head the comic has finally been finished and UPDATED! Dear good merciful lord we might get back on track. not just elgin but me as well! that is just a scary thought!!

For the time right now, i am going to pace us out and see if monday or sunday would be better for an update. At the moment i am thinking that mondays would be best, but i have to watch the counter.

But anyways, we are back and hopefully it stays this way! I thank who ever has been coming back and checking and i promise you to not disappear for months again! And if something does happen, remember to keep checkin my blog and now i have twitter as well; just look for Roan Writhers!

Its not my Fault!!

Hey kiddies,

Okay do not blame me because for once it is not my fault. I have had the comic done for weeks now and it seems like our Elgin is being mister stinker. Honestly it may be partly my fault. We started playing WoW for a month and well.... yeah you see the problem. There is one panel in the comic that he was suppose to do and well it isnt even 1/4 done. I keep nagging but then we play so im not helping the situtation. my bad!

Alrighty then, it has appeared that me and Elgin have been gone for quite some time now, and we are feeling much better. We just spent the last week campin in the forest of Crescent Falls, and hiking some. While that was last week, we have Elgin still attempting to pass his practice test, so that is some of our time spent. I will be starting on the new comic sometime this week hopefully and while i am doing that, Elgin will be studying.
So keep on the watchout and i will let you know what day the comic will be going up.

Ready and Willing

Whew, what a week!
We finally got the comic up last night about 12:00am. Why? I personally think Elgin was being too perfectionist, but who am I to say? At least it is up after not doing it for... sixteen days. Yikes that is just painful. With that all said and done, tomorrow is Elgin's test but he has already started the next comic. So with a little love and a even bigger hope of strength we will have that comic drawn, dark lined and colored by next thursday! Here's to praying lol.
So with that I will be working and online in the forum for the next few days. The forum is already working of course. Plus I may just work on some random doodles, maybe for fun or for work. I haven't really decided yet.

Watch Out

Well obviously if you are coming to my blog through the site, you will see that Elgin updating the 'latest and beginning bar' and also readded the shoutbox. So thats some fun things with that and I am nearly finished the newest comic as well. So extra bonus for me!
The next little piece of news it the fact that we now have our forum up and running. You just need to click the link on the home page! There is a lot of extra info about the Flycoren Series and I will be making more complete profiles for some of the most important characters as well and of course some minor ones. It will be seperated into two bits, Flycoren Archives (Rhye and Crow) and then Flycoren Kausim (Belle and Az).
Like any forum it has a general discussion, rules and some fun little bits. So if you are interested go there. And also if you have any questions about anything on the comic, the site or for us there is a questions for the creators part.
So with the last note, Elgin probably wont be doing too much with the forum since i know how to used them a little bit more. And currently it is a free forum. I am not planning on buying it until we bought the flycoren domain. So a little bit yet.

Time for my update, and this is how it goes. Yes i am working on the comic tonight so i am hoping that on Tuesday it will be up, if not sooner! Secondly i am not sure when comic 12# will be drawn up, it may be a week or so before since Elgin has to study all week and write his test on Saturday... so expect delays for the time being. It is so sad! But with that news we are currently looking to speak to our domain hoster, Mspencer to get our site up and compad with his server for the forum. But there is no word from him yet, and if he does not respond soon i will be buying the flycoren.com prolly this week. Just so we don't have to rely on him.
So with that right now i am again working on coloring comic 11# and then i am also working on major information for Flycoren Archives and Flycoren: Kausim. So absolutely excited for all that stuff! yay! Otherwise people i do not have much to update on tonight.

Alrighty then;
Well I know I typically rant on the front page of Flycoren: Kausim, but since Elgin is normally the one... actually is the only one who updates the html format, I don't normally rant often. So I figured I would just create a blog so we can keep all the people updated without having a ton of weight on Elgin. Sounds good now don't it? I will attempt to update the blog about twice a week. Just to make sure I do not forget anything.
We have been a little off and about of late, hence why we have not been updating the comic as quick. The Calgary Stampede is in town so that is one issue, I really want to go! So on Weds Night we will be going out to it with my youngest brother in law, but with that comes good news. Elgin has penciled the comic he just needs to dark line it and then the coloring shall begin. I am hoping to get it up on the web by either friday or saturday. And with that thought comes another; obviously we have a tracker on the webcomic but I want to be able to update the comic on a day that it will get a lot of views. So we will be watching the tracker a little more closer in the next coming weeks just so we can get a educated look. In which time I will be making a note here to let you all know what day the comic update will be changed too!
Another thing I just wanted to mention is the fact that I have been around while Elgin is working and I have just recently join up to another webcomic forum. If you haven't heard of Emerald Winter, you seriously need to check this out. The artist is two years older than me but my goodness her art is so beautiful. I am very envious over here! And finally it looks like Elgin and I have found a great website for our forum to be started on. When we will get too it... that is a whole other thing. Elgin has been a very busy boy of late. He is working late at HMV 5 out 7 days and on one of his free nights he is working at WFG. And then he has a test in a few weeks, so he is all over. (not to mention our bad timing of playing a little WoW oops!)
